ChappellAmps Custom Cabinets

All ChappellAmps cabinets are hand-crafted from solid hardwoods, and are available in a variety of finishes.  We use a variety of corner joints in the construction of our cabinets; dovetails, half-blind dovetails, box joints, and mitered bisquited joints.  While most of our cabinets are made from figured maple, other woods are available.  Alder, Birch, Cherry, Cypress, Mahogany (African and Honduran), Oak (Red and White), Redwood, Teak, and Walnut are normally available.  Occasionally, we are able to find reclaimed softwoods that are sutiable for cabinet use such as antique pine and fir.  These woods, while soft, can be quite stunning, with colors rangeing from a golden yellow to a dark orange.

You might recognize our cabinet designs as being made according to the plans available at AX84®.  There is a very good reason for that: we designed them.

Our cabinets are made to last.  All internal cleats are hardwood.  Cabinet grade, void-free Baltic Birch plywood is used for the speaker grille frame, baffle-board, and rear panels of the speaker cabinets.



Amplifier Cabinets

Our amplifier cabinets, or head cabinets, are 18" W. x 10" H. x 10-1/8" D. (inside dimensions are 16-1/2" x 8-1/2" x 9-1/8").  It will accomidate an amplifier that uses a 16" x 8" x 2" chassis provided that the chassis mount with bolts that go through it and are fastened to the cabinet bottom such as the AX84 amp chassis.

All cabinets come with one undrilled, matching 1/16" thick faceplate (additional faceplates available at the time of order), sutiable for ingraving or printing.

Faceplates of Rosewood and Ebony are available at an additional charge.  A rear cover panel kit is also available.

1 x 12 Speaker Cabinets

Our 1 x 12 speaker cabinets are 20-3/8" W. x 23-1/2" H. x 11" D.  The back of the cabinet is split into two sections.  The smaller of the solid panels can be removed to convert the cabinet from a closed-back to an open-back configuration.  Additionally, an optional, ported panel is available.  Port sizes are available for standard "E" and  "Drop-D" tunings as well as one for 7-string/Baritone guitars.

Cabinets may be ordered in a vertical, or horizontal orientation.  These cabinets are stable and can be stacked.
